Looks like a lot of struggle with the passing game, which is a little understandable. But quite honestly I'm sick of seeing Jamarcus struggling, he gotta start stepping his game up for the season.

I honestly think if he was actually doing some offseason workouts (who knows if he was or not), he wouldnt look to be having such a tough time.
The season is 365...I wonder if Matt Ryan is having a tough time at his camp as well....just throwing that out there.

you know what I really liked was this:
next play; jamarcus misses way wide right in flats screen. yells "s" word. wow. some emotion.
Probably wouldn't have happened had Garcia not been signed, exactly what he was brought in for.

no, to push Russell, give him that drive and fire necessary to succeed. Him showing some emotion and personal accountability means something.

Just saying, some people don't really show emotion much. They've said that about Russell, he doesn't getting effected he remains calm.
U would think Raiders4life is Jamarcus' publicist

True, and it looks like he is now though, maybe because he's getting pushed for the first time, which is a good thing.
It's not good to show too much emotion and fire but at times it's important, because it gives an indication about personal accountability and that he cares, especially to teammates and people around him. Also with him being a QB, it rubs off on the rest of the offense and gives them a sense of urgency. I think at times he might've been too cool and calm last year.

not sure why you think so, I'm not dismissing his poor accuracy or praising him. Just saying why imo the Garcia signing is a good thing for Russell.

Just wondering woudl you rather see your QB showing emotion on the sideline, being mad at himself or being calm for the next drive?
Some emotion is good, especially right after a play saying shit or my bad is ok. But I don't think as the supposed leader you show too much emotion, because then who do the teamates look up to?

I like to see some emotion to know that he really cares about the game and his performance, but yea, i want him cool and focused for the next drive.

yup, it's important, especially as a QB because his attitude impacts everyone else on the offense.

Yeah, I agree, too much emotion isn't good, but having some is necessary.
The team looks up to the QB more than any other position. If the QB doesn't show a sense of urgency and personal accountability, how are his teammates going to act and respond? They likely won't take it seriously either. Like when a QB is making lots of bad throws and decisions, he should sound off and show some anger, this rubs off on the other guys because it lets them know he cares and wants to win.
Russell seemed to be showing too little emotion. I think having Garcia around helps with that because Garcia is a very fiery and emotional guy, so Russell can take something from it.

I think the most emotional guys on our offense are Darren and Chaz. They have a lot of energy and seem to want to express it. I guess you could throw JLH in there too but Russell and even Fargas seem to be quiet, softspoken guys. I could see Darren or maybe Chaz as the vocal leader that gets our guys pumped up in the huddle and focused to get the job done.

Well usually the WRs and RBs have more of a personality, but I agree Russell should be more vocally involved.

All I have to say is lead by example. If you aren't the vocal type, you be the example of excellence...others WILL follow!
I remember Big Linc was one of our vocal leaders earlier this decade. It doesn't have to be the qb, but when he's calling out the plays im sure it helps. Darren and Chaz always look like they have had too much caffeine lol. I love it!

Maybe Garcia is home boning his hot wife, instead of making Russell nervous.

I know if Mrs Garcia was Mrs.Bump... Id be out of the NFL because id be home boning her so much...

Last year's offense was unwatchable most of the time. I can't remember the exact stats, but I'm pretty sure up until week 12 or 13 we scored ONE FIRST HALF TD all season!!! Bullshit! We turn any of those FGs into TDs and we win at least 2 or 3 more games, the Buffalo and SD games come to mind.
I know the defense is weak, but if the offense doesn't improve we're going 4-12 this year.

raidersforlife, the glass-is-half-fullest fan I have ever seen... LOL!
thats pretty fuckin bad when a kid from Florida who runs a spread option offense in college comes into your pro organization and says
"The plays aint really that much different"
well, I could say a few things about that comment...
One would be about how maybe thats how they have to keep the playbook scaled back for Jamarcus maybe?
That would cause too many problems now though wouldnt it??
And I realize that may be speculation but fuck it if the shoe fits.

That was actually a comment, Im pretty sure Rich Gannon said, last year about the offense...that they were playing with a scaled down playbook (im sure speculation on his part as well but I believe it coming from an ex-qb who knows the business).

You mean you don't think we will go at least 8-8? I don't understand this negative thinking. Every other forum I go to thinks we will go at least 8-8... maybe even go to the playoffs.
OK... that was my weak attempt at humor... I agree with you... no way this team wins more than 6 games, if that. Anything over 6 wins is a bonus.

Vegas had the total win over/under at 5.5 wins for Raiders. Those odds makers definitely know how to set a line.

Coverage sacks, huh? I want to see a real pass rush. Are they getting sacks because of real good coverage or is it because Russell is still struggling? A better breakdown would be cool.
