I think Anderson Silva will handle Lietes no problem in a couple of weeks. The fight I am looking forward to is Shogun vs Liddell, I hope they both come in to the fight healthy and in shape!

We also have Nick Diaz vs Frank Shamrock on Showtime next week, should be a war! It sucks Thompson broke his leg. I wonder who Melendez will be fighting on such short notice?!

This could either be one of the best fights or worst fights in Ufc history...There both counter fighters ....They get going when their opponent comes after them just like Chuck Liddell....They might just sit there and dance around in the middle of the cage the whole fight....

Saturday, UFC 99. I'm looking forward to Wanderlei vs Rich Franklin. It'll be interesting, since Anderson Silva helped Rich prepare for Wanderlei, since they used to be training partners. I don't really understand the bad blood between those two, but it should make for a very interesting fight. I'm pulling for Wanderlei, he needs a win badly!

Also excited to see Cain Velazquez vs Cheick Kongo. Velazquez has some skills, but I really like Kongo. Should be a battle.

The return of Cro Cop! That should be cool too. Also the return of Caol Uno, plus fights by Marcus Davis and Mike Swick. Should be a solid card.

If any undercard fights are shown, I hope it's Paul Taylor's. He wins Fight of the Night damn near every time he steps in the Octagon.

Guida got his ass kicked 10-8 round one...he may have been on top dry humping Diego most of the rest of the rounds but he got punished while on top...BRUTALLY...hence the pools of blood all over the ring and on Diego.

That is why Randy walked away from UFC - but is back now - and started Affliction. Dana does not pay the fighters a fair share. Mir is a pretty successful fighter... lets say he fights 3-4 times a year and count the Lesnar fight as one. Of course, he will make a better pay day against an opponent like Lesnar who made a ridiculous $3 million or 66.6 times more than Mir. I'll throw an even number, such as 30k out there. That puts Mir between $100-$135k for a year's worth of fighting. And you wonder why fighters paste their ass, chest, ring flags, and chest hairs with ads.

Yeah no doubt. And why, because of starpower. Guys like St. Pierre, Silva, BJ, Brock etc. are big names and sell tickets. Who exactly does boxing have now? Shit Floyd would probably still be the biggest draw and he hasn't fought for 2 years. The heavyweight division is a joke.

Truthfully, I think Arlovski had no business being in that fight. He is really overrated now, his game has decreased a lot. He has really good boxing skills, but he just isn't what he used to be. He used to be good, but he has one of the worst chins I have ever seen - if you land a flush shot, regardless of strength, Arlovski is going down. Brett Rogers destroyed him in less than 20 seconds.

Same with Tim Sylvia. I haven't been impressed with Fedor's last couple fights. They are pitting him against has-been's. I'd like to see him put up against a legitimate heavyweight contender, although I doubt that happens since he didn't sign with the UFC. A bitch move on his part, IMO.

Round 1 was close, could have gone either way. I just dont think judges score takedowns as heavily anymore. Tits got round 2 easily but got destroyed in round 3. If I had to guess, the dominance of round 3 swung the decision of round 1 as well.

I watched walkers interview last week and he said he had been involved with Tai Kwon Do since before his playing days with Georgia and the NFL.. he said something to the fact he was a 3rd degree blackbelt back almost 30 years ago..so I'm not gonna knock him for wanting to try MMA out..he looks pretty chiseled for being 47..the dude has a physicque of a 20 year old..Pretty impressive for him to fight..throw down like that..I know the opponant was dishrag bum, but I give respect for Walker for even stepping into the ring..Be cool to see how far Walker can go with this..he was always a phenominal athlete..

Did you see those "best-of KOs" specials they had on Spike TV recently? The UFC literally used to be a bar fight! Bare-knuckle, just run up swinging fists, the fight is over in less than a minute. Shit one guy was wearing track pants and a dirty old t-shirt I was dying laughing.

yeah they need to bring back those tournaments when they used to fight 3 or 4 fights a night. hah.

Your right though they do hype up some shitty lookin main events but then again you will still get some decent fights out of the card. Maybe Dana and the fertittas should scale down the amount of cards per year. They have a little bit too many cards and some of them are shit.

We really haven't seen any versatility or anything from Carwin. He doesn't win exchanges on his feet, he doesn't have a ground game, etc. He just has heavy hands, and if he lands one punch you're done. If it goes past the 1st round, I'll put everything I own on Mir. But I got a feeling Carwin is gonna land one of those shots and put Mir to sleep, and I hope that's what happens. I hate Mir.
