I've got some native american blood in me ... my cousin researched the family tree and has it all documented. He is a registered Geneoligist so he could file IF we had a high enough percentage to make it official, but he hasn't so i ASSuME we don't.

Its one of the small east coast tribes, sadly for me not the ones with the casinos :(

Cool. Maybe you do. My great great grandparents, mom side German, dad side French, moved from Europe into Canada after WW1. Eventually moved down to S.Dak, bought a farm sometime in the 20's and eventually lost the farm during the dust bowl in the 30's.

I'm married to a Puerto Rican. My mom's sister married a full blood Sioux.

I have nephews and nieces that are Black, Native American, White, extended family includes Cubans.... love em all.

It's my understanding you can register as long as you can prove ANY amount of blood.

I'm 25%, but it doesn't really matter how much I've got, to register with my nation you have to prove a connection to a relative named on the Dawes Rolls from 1898-1914.

I know this holds true for Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw and Seminole nations.

Getting registered is also a good thing if you're going to college. Being Native American entitles you to certain benefits that can really lighten your financial load as you make your way through school.
