Two NFL sources have told FanHouse the attacker was Raiders' first-year head coach Tom Cable, and "that Hanson never saw it coming."

X-rays were taken. The results are not known, although one NFL source told FanHouse Hanson sustained a fractured jaw as a result of the punch.

being a Napa boy and in the medical field with ties to the Queen, lets just say this wasn't a love tap. He really nailed him and he could have made a whole lot of trouble.

Imagine your boss just clocking you because you ticked him off; lawsuit big time.

Ridiculous behavior, and it's unacceptable. How can someone keep their cool under pressure when they cant' control their temper. I know the U.S. is a bunch of hot heads but come on.

Nice!

Maybe now he'll shut his damn mouth moving forward. (I doubt it though.)

Kiffin might have let it go with a simple suspension from the club house.
The Cable way is to lay down the law.

Nothing like getting "socked in front of your peers" to take you down a few pegs.

It will be covered up by the organization and nothing will happen to Cable. At least he didn't hit a woman I guess.

Apparently the whole "respect" part has eluded Mr. Hanson, so Cable took another approach.

Whether or not it's effective, remains to be seen, we obviously can deduct that the Kiffin suspension didn't work by the fact that he's still rubbing folks the wrong way in the lockerroom.

From all accounts, this douche' should have had a scheduled ass-whippin months ago!

If this is true - I don't like it - undisciplined to the max - like the Raiders have been for the last years.. Another bush league stunt to put the Raiders in the spotlight - for the wrong reasons...

Reminds me of 2003..During a scrimmage, Romo ripped off the helmet of tight end Marcus Williams and crushed his eye socket with a punch. Williams would eventually be awarded $340,000 in a lawsuit regarding the incident.

Wonder if Hanson was going for Cables knees?...

Maybe hanson should be fired for not fighting back, not the tone we need to be setting on defense!

Alright so on the team there's a player that punched the punter, a player that abused his wife, and a coach that punched another coach. Is that correct?

Personally, I don't have all the facts. What got Cable so pissed off? Did Hanson deserve to get socked in the mouth hole?

As an outsider without any information, it looks bad. You don't want in fighting of any kind, but honestly, maybe it had nothing to do with the Raiders and was completely personal? I'm not happy with the news, but I'm not gonna let it get to me or start bad mouthing Cable until I know why.

The facts are still coming in but I hear what your saying. If this shit is true someone needs to pay. This is not how you run a NFL team.

I agree Nutz something did happen and it needs to be handled and not behind closed doors. If it's Hansens fault he needs to go (he also had problems with Kiffin but who didn't?) If Cable did sucker punch one of his assistants he needs to have a sit down with the comish. We don't need this type of bullshit in the Raider Nation.

Well, it appears Nancy Gay is foiled again. Apparently there was no punch. Marshall and Hanson were in a heated discussion and Hanson got "nasty" and "disrespectful" to Marshall. Cable took offense and tipped his chair over. Apparently he hit his face on a cabinet or something.

IF this is true (per blogs and Chris Mortensen) then I have little problem with what Cable did. Hanson has run his big mouth before and methinks karma bit him in the nose. So, again, IF this is true, then I go with what Cheap said and we should simply dump Hanson in the unemployed line. Unfortunately, he might have the Raiders over a barrell because I would assume he could still sue over this if they fired him.

I dunno, but I knew when I heard this yesterday, that we should wait to judge until more facts come out. Instead of lambasting the org. and Tom Cable with ignorant diatribe, let's find out the truth -- which BTW, still isn't confirmed.

Oh, and fck Nancy Gay. :chair:

I wanted the "Return Of Chucky" but Cablevision is what we got. I like that things are getting "physical" again at 1220. Two Chicks, Raider Rob & Griz fight at RNC. Now Coach-On-Coach crime.Somewhere Buddy Ryan is sending a congrats e-card to Cable. It may have been stupid, but it got everybodies attention.Hanson will go the way of Kiffin, but in the "League". Teams will be weary of the Raiders. If the Coach is knocking motherfuckers out, what is he teaching his players? I love the physcological implications. Our players need to just play with the same passion. This is NOT a distraction. This should be a REACTION, to get out on that fucking field and "KNOCK SOMEBODY THE FUCK OUT!!!". No matter how it looks. It's the Raider Way! It just has to transfer to WINS!...If it does become a distraction, then Cable is an IDIOT! until then. KING AL will handle it.

Sounds kinda childish of Cable, though he is defending Marshall, but its still better than punching someone in the face.

OH NO! Training camp has a pulse again?

OH NO! Somebody on this staff actually gives a fuck to the point that if your in his way you win a face injury?

What's a matter with Cable? You're only supposed to talk about bringin the nasty back to this team, not actually back it up.

I was not down with the Cable hire but ol John Goodman's approval rating just went up in my book. Think I'll call the resort in Napa and buy that man a beer. I'm with Cable here. Enough FUCKING around, get on board or enjoy your liquid diet.

Cable should've put homeboy in a coma. He didn't knock him out the right way. Now he might have to face the commissioners strict policy and might get suspended "if" any info is leaked. Hanson is scared and won't spill shit. When it's all said and done it will be swept under the rug. Getting info inside the Raider organization is probably harder than getting info from the pentagon.
