Dope. 27 years old. an't have enough competition at tackle.

I'm guessing this means we probably arent drafting one at #7.

Good to see one of our priorities this off season was the line

I like these low key signings. Hopefully we get some hungry gems that are productive with us.

Anyone else getting slightly nervous that Cable is totally obsessed with the O line at the expense of everything else?

Well i hope competition pushes someone good out there. I don't want another season of Cornell Green starting by default.

No not really, he's trying to fix one of the weakest links on the team. Russell needs better protection and more time for his passing game. All the signs point to the Raiders probably going for a defensive player with their 7th pick in the draft.

The good thing is that this guy is YOUNG competition. Rather than signing the older vets (Smith) and instead going for the 26 year old Barnes, picking up this guy, a 27 year old, and a young Pears, is a much better personell strategy than what we've been used to.

Just for competition, and who knows the change of teams could be good for him. Just look at Chris Johnson.

Thats true, but at least we brought in three poential starters instead of one and then just crowning him. The chances of all three sucking ass are much less

Every single NFL team signs bum offensive linemen to compete in camp. It doesn't mean we've improved the line. Please stop.

 QFT

Still, as bad as our line has been, signing people so we have more competition means filtering out the uber suck.

No it doesn't. Signing players with actual talent filters out the uber suck.

For sure. But this beats last offseason where we sign one fuc*in tackle who has youtube videos displaying his abilities as a human turnstile, we literally had no competition at the tackle positions.
The guy we brought in from the year before was supposed to be a backup and ended up starting all year, so to see us sign three tackles, all of them young, is a good thing.
Of course some of them will be camp fodder and worthlesss, but you'll never unearth the gems of FA if you don't get as many bodies at positions of need as you can.

Well some players flourish in other places and other times they crap out like Harris, so it remains to be seen. Better than staying pat and hoping a rookie pans out.
