Did any body see the Jacoby Jones TD?

It's fucken bullshit. His TD was reviewed and was upheld. Dude fell on his ass in the end zone as he was catching it, but as he hit the end zone the ball popped out.

Why the hell is that a TD but it isn't a TD when both your feet touch the end zone as well as your ass and an elbow before the ball comes out?

I didn't see that play, but it's a known fact that we are held to a different set of rules than the rest of the NFL.

Fuck Mike Perriera and his band of crooked clones...

It's different because he came from outside the end zone, he only had to break the plane.

Again, stupid rule.

but doesnt the rule say whether in the end zone or not, in order to rule it as a catch, player must have complete control when going to the ground?

Well what I'm saying is that the play was over and touchdown in the books the instant the ball crossed that plane. So in this case, my opinion is that it doesnt matter what happened after.

Thats what I was saying after the call in Oakland it's a fucked rule cuz if you're coming from outside the end zone you can just cross the plane or even when diving out of bounds you can just stick the ball over the pylon and drop it etc.

But when you catch it inside the end zone you have to catch.. maintain..stomp around... count to 3.. do a little dance.. make a football move.. wtf?

That's my interpretation anyway.

The rule is actually pretty good in my book. It keeps consistent with the rule that you have to actually hold onto the ball while going out of bounds after a catch. If you're going to make the catch in the actual end zone, you should be held to the same standards of making a catch anywhere else. It's a different deal if you break the plane because you're already in possession of the ball.

The call wouldn't have been as controversial, but ESPN is really dumb and kept showing the wrong replay angles. They did not show the correct angle until after the play was reversed. Murphy began losing control on his way to the ground and fully lost the football after landing, then picked it up while it was under his body (hence the reason it was called a TD, the ref couldn't see the ball). What it does is allow teams to actually play defense in the end zone, knowing a good hit can jar the ball out and stop a score.

hill murphy lost the ball on the way up from the ground. he still had possession when he hit the ground. you can see him push himself up with his left hand when the ball actually comes out.

I disagree with Mr. Hill and agree with BigPrimo.
Someone posted the rule which I read twice and found that Murphy did all he was supposed to do for a completion. I'm not buying that the catch in the Houston game was any different. Many other catches similar to ours were ruled TD's. The Zebra's reached deep into their bag of tricks and pulled one over on us.
We got jacked. Again.

i do remember them saying something about the tip of the ball hit the ground when he was going down & that had something to do with it.
