View Full Version : Carnitas - anybody know any good recipes?

I'm goin home for the weekend and my mom wants me to make Carnitas..we have a cazo, one of those large copper pot things so we're cool on that.

anybody got any tips / recipes? not havin a lot of luck finding recipes on the internet that use the cazo..

anything would be appreciated.

if not, i can always make carne al pastor haha

yeah....go down to the local carniceria...and buy some already made..put them in some warm fresh corn tortillas and some salsa picoso and enjoy!! LMAO :rofl

that's baking it in an oven

i found a good one but accidentally clicked out of it..it was really simple too.
i think it was just the manteca and a 3-4 other ingredients
the process is the most important thing i believe

not yet, i'm still gonna keep on looking and if i can't find a good one i'll use one of the less traditional methods to make it, or just make al pastor

maybe i should just get a mexican cook book..or see if my dad has one with a carnitas recipe layin around

Someone in my family has carnitas every week; there are lots of different ways to do it. I'm sure it will turn out awesome.
