For the end of the season through the playoffs...
Kuroda's got a very important start tonight. He needs to prove he can pitch 6-7 innings consistently, since our playoff rotation is pretty open.

So far so good!
I missed most of the game, how's he looking?
Frantz Presaesno
09-23-2009, 11:06 AM
Kuroda looked good. His only blemish was a 2 run HR to Adam Dunn, but he's Adam Dunn so that's going to happen.
I hope they saved some runs for the rest of the series. Billingsly the Bum is pitching today. Yikes...

I think he's injured and hiding it because he's due money this offseason.

Wow.. way to blow that game.

I love how the Dodgers can lose, and it's like they won because Colorado lost.

its going to be real interesting what torre does with the rotation ...he needs to start the 4 man rotation pretty soon...

Garland, Wolf and Kuroda are in for sure. Kershaw is #4 if he's healthy enough for the gig. I have no idea who #5 is in a 7 game series, but Padilla looks awful.

I hope the Braves don't keep this surge up. I'd HATE to see that pitching staff in the first round.

I don't think it really matters. Our staff isn't good enough to win it all. Hope I'm wrong...

Our advantage in the playoffs is the bullpen. We can deal with a couple of five inning starts as long as we can rest the pen this weekend.

Hell, lose 7 out of 9 on this "easy" roadie? WTF? Oh well, just gotta win one vs the Rockies to clinch the division, but fuck, don't punk out in the first round.. Philly or St. Louis is gonna be tough no matter what.. Just hope our pitching holds up.. And the bats come back alive somewhat... Making the Pads pitching staff look like the '95 Braves or some shit..
Frantz Presaesno

Bout to watch the Rockies game.
Come on Brewers.
Joe Torre and Don Mattingly need to get in their collective asses. I hate to be so negative but they're playing like they've already locked up HFA. Lame...

Just gonna have to wrap it up tomorrow..

I can't believe this shit. I bought tickets for tomorrow months ago because they hadn't announced the promotion night and I got some insider info. I jokingly said "I'm going to hate myself for buying these if it's an important series, I'll just sit there quietly and not be any fun."
Guess I set myself up for that one.

NL West, check. HFA, check.
If we can somehow beat Carpenter in Game 1, it would be a huge stepping stone. FUCK THE CARDINALS!..

I could see the Cards sweeping us in a romp. Game 1 will determine the series.

St. Louis' offense is somewhat overrated because the middle of the order is so good. I think Wolf can at least keep their runs down, though we have to hope the bats can do anything against Carpenter.
I got my tickets. 6:37 first pitch!

Yep, too bad we couldn't capitalize on the two out hits by Loney and Blake, but let's hope we keep working Carpenter till he breaks down and gives up a few more runs..
Wolf has GOT to settle down here and get through this next inning with no fuckin' drama..

Broxton should only be used in the 9th from now on. Sherrill was doing fine. <3 our pen.
Gotta hold serve again today.

Man, what a win.. Still in disbelief.. Was the only Dodger fan at the bar (being in Mariner country, that's to be expected), but was also the loudest motherfucker at the bar too.. Can't believe Holliday played that off his nads.. Fuckin sweet..
And I think they mentioned on TV that Brox probably was in there in the 8th because of the RH bats coming up (Pujols, Holliday, etc).. And Sherrill's closed in B-more for a couple years, so he CAN come in in the 9th if needed.. It worked out, so no biggie.. Let's finish these fuckos off tomorrow

You're losing 2-1 and the other guy is throwing a gem. You have 6 outs to work with and have to give yourself the best chance to win. They have their three best hitters in the lineup who are also all right-handed. What other decision is there? Bring in Weaver and risk him giving up a run and putting it out of reach?
41.1 IP, 2.40 ERA, 1.137 WHIP, 39 K, 13 BB, 20 saves - those are Sherrill's numbers in Baltimore as a closer this season. He was one of the best closers in the American League when he came to LA.
What you saw yesterday was how a true playoff bullpen is managed.

i dont know man ...everyone would have been all over torre if it backfired....if sherrill has been so dominant than why would it matter if you throw him out there before broxton like you have during the season....maybe im being to critical but glad it worked out...

Because Broxton is your best right hander and there's three right handed hitters coming up (who happen to be the three best in the lineup).
