View Full Version : What about Zach Thomas

just a random thought...

AFTER the draft, if the Raiders don't select a MLB type to challenge Morrison-why not bring in Z. Thomas to AT LEAST compete, but challenge Kirk Morrison?

I know he's old, but even if Morrison were to beat him out he could probably learn a thing or two from him.

At a vet minimum, could be a bargain. In no way am I suggesting pay him big time or he'd be my first choice to start at MLB-but SOMEONE needs to light a fire under Morrison's azz IMHO.

Thoughts?

I know the thought has come in my mind that since we signed a vet in Garcia on the offensive side that it would be nice to sign a vet player to play on defense. But Zach Thomas ? I forgot he was even in the league still.

After the draft we will probably make a move like that but until then lets work on getting this draft class here.

Just saying, if they don't DRAFT a MLB type...I would make the move no doubt if I was Cable.

They are going to roll with Morrison at MLB since he is in the last year of his contract.

No thanks. Five years ago I would of been all over signing Thomas. But I don't want something who is on his last wheels. We need a young stud at LB who is going to create violent car collision, somebody that will put the fear of GOD in opposing running backs.

That's what I'm talking about Gen a mofo who puts the fear of god in a RB's azz. I want a MLB who has speed and endurance so LT's punk azz will have to increase his life insurance.

With Morrison in the LAST yr of his contract, and you sign Z. Thomas to a 1 yr deal...they're both competing.

Morrison should beat out Z. Thomas if he's old and has lost a step. I don't know if Thomas would start or what. Just like the idea of pushing Morrison. I think the guy has two many holes in his game.

Zach Thomas is on on his last wheels, and he also has a bad neck "not good for a MLB".

But if we can bring him in here on the cheap! I'm all for it!

Comp is one thing, but nobody's even sure if he'll stay healthy. We'll just end up with another Walker type of thing happening (without the mega $ tho of course).

I like the idea of pushing Sands out of the roster better. I have said I'd go in drafting an offensive tackle prior to the offensive line being addressed. But since the defense hasn't been tampered with DT is on the now priority list on the defensive side of the game. The way I see the draft going will be wide reciever, then defensive tackle depending who is available, but it works either way.. It could very well be DT then WR. Damn, I can't wait till draft day!

:mean:

tell u what though-Morrison should be able to beat him out then. I don't want a sh!tty...and I mean SH!TTTY MLB playing every down for the Raiders and not producing. If they don't draft a MLB type or move Morrison over,

how the f*cvk ELSE are they supposed to light a fire under his azz?

Well the fire should be lit, this is his last year in his contract so he needs to prove hes worthy of a good paycheck, here or elsewhere.

I do agree he is nowhere near the top MLBs in the league. If we wanna rebuild the D, we need to do it in the middle. NT, MLB. If we got a mean physical NT who demanded doubles and a sick intimidating MLB like Ray Lewis...shiiiiiit. Our D would take strides!

I didnt see zach with dallas last year, but i watched him with miami the years before that. Tackling machine. Even with a weak ass defense around him. That run defense was a completely different team with him in there.

Our backers are just as bas against the run as our DL. That excuse is getting really old. You know how many damn teams you can say that about? So any team with a bad DL might actually have good linebackers, you just dont know it? lol ok...

I think every return RB in the NFL is great, just some teams dont have the blocking in front to open holes!

Morrison's missed tackles and howard's soft ass have nothing to do with our DL...

Too old....and has had too many concussions in his career.
