Dickface Fucknuts of ESPN’s Stats & Information Department, has put together a list of 10 reasons why it may be difficult for the Raiders to reach the postseason this year.

Oakland star defensive end Richard Seymour said on a Cincinnati radio station this week that the Raiders will make the playoffs. Oakland is 2-4 and currently one game off the pace for the No. 6 overall seed. The Raiders can make the postseason, but, as Dickface Fucknuts points out, improvements in key areas are needed.

Here is Fucknut’s list:

10. Without yet having their bye week, the Raiders have 1,283 total yards on the season. There are 15 quarterbacks with more passing yards than that.

9. The 2-4 Raiders still have to play on the road against: Chargers, Broncos, Steelers and Cowboys (and those are just four of their remaining 10 games).

8. The Raiders have punted the ball 37 times for 1,927 yards. Only 12 teams have more than 1,927 total yards of offense.

7. The Raiders are last in yards per game (213.8), yards per play (3.9), 1st downs per game (12.0) -- and probably many other things.

6. Of the six Raiders players with at least five receptions this season, one is a wide receiver.

5. JaMarcus Russell's best passer rating in a single game this year was in a 44-7 loss at the Giants (85.4) -- he was 8-13 for 100 yards with no interceptions. But he was sacked six times and lost a fumble to the Giants on three of them.

4. The Raiders have scored 62 points in 24 quarters this season. The Patriots scored 59 in the driving snow in Week 6 against the Titans -- in three quarters. And Tom Brady threw for five TD in the second quarter of that game -- as a team, the Raiders have scored five touchdowns this season.

3. JaMarcus Russell has two touchdown passes on the season, Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes in a 3-minute, 36-second span in the second quarter on Sunday against the Titans.

2. The Raiders have had a grand total of 19 receptions by their wide receivers this season. There are 61 players in the NFL with more than 19 receptions this season.

1. In three of their six games this season, the Raiders have failed to score more points than their amount of punts. And in two of their games, they've had more penalty yards than passing yards.

None of that means shit this is a new look team with schilens back. Now there is atleast NFL caliber in terms of catching a football at that position starting and we are set.

We rank 32nd in all Offensive catogories, except one & that's a 31st rank. This Offesne is far from "Greatness". I don't see Chaz Schilens being a savior either. Chaz had 15 catches & 3 TD's last year. He may be a big boost, he may be our only Red Zone threat, but we don't get in the Redzone anyways. The Offensive line is battered, we can't run the ball because of the O-line injuries & lack of passing game. Our Defense isn't gonna be as dominant as it was last week, every week, because they are gonna be on the field for the whole game the majority of the time.

I only see 2 cures for this Offense. Getting our O-line back healthy, & benching JaMarcus Russell.

^^^ exactly! I have no doubt in my mind that any other one of our back up QB's would be more effective running our offense. JaMarcus is missing wide open throws, & relying on Checkdowns to the RB's & FB's. His only passing option of 10 yards or more is the TE.

Our back-ups can make the throws that Russell is missing. Also, JaMarcus was drafted for his big arm, right? Then why for two seasons in a row is he a dink & dunk QB? No Deep balls at all. I remember 2 deep passes last year. 1 to Schilens, & 1 to Lelie. That's it! He 's a bust. You draft him for his deep ball, & he can't even make a deep pass. JaMarcus' numbers from last year are deceiving as well. 70% of his throws were to RB's, FB's & TE's. We were also ranked 32nd in passing offense last season.

The problem is JaMarcus Russell. We should offer a trade with Buffalo, for QB Trent Edwards. That's who I wanted in the first place. And Buffalo looks like their gonna fire their coach at seasons end, & Trent Edwards will probably be out the door with him. We should get Edwards.

I have no faith in any of the QB's that will be in this years draft. And the QB free agents next year are all bums. We could get Trent Edwards from the Bills for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. The Bills are gonna be picking in the top 10 anyways, they can just draft another QB, which I think they are gonna do anyways.

I wanted Edwards too... but, he isn't doing much better than JR right now. As much as I want a different QB on this team, I'll wait and see what happens with JR in the next few games. I highly doubt that I will be surprised, but I'm willing to wait and see if anything Seymour had to say to him sinks in. I can't believe I just said that. :hide:

Why would we draft a QB in the first round again? That's asking for a disaster, we're better off going after Kolb or even Troy Smith, but DEFINITELY not Trent Edwards. He's done in the NFL once Ryan Fitzpatrick actually starts moving their offense. Not much different from JP Loserman.

BUT, we all know Al isn't giving up on Russell so we can only hope that he gets better as the season goes on. We're stuck with him and he's not going anywhere.

Trent Edwards is a good young QB. He just needs to get outta Buffalo. Not sure Oakland is a much better situation for him, but I'd rather have him than JaMarcus, any Free Agent QB, or a younger less experienced rookie QB.

I live near Philly, I know all about the Eagles & their coach. I'll tell you right now, Andy Reid is NOT dealing away Kevin Kolb...just forget that idea. Kolb is Reids baby, personally hand picked & groomed by Reid. No way the Eagles let Kolb go. Kolb is also a fan favorite. TRUST ME.

We can get a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round. I'm just hoping for Jake Locker if we do take a QB round 1. I think taking a QB in round 1 is way too soon for the Raiders right now. I agree with you 100%. But you never know what Al Davis will do at draft time.

If this happens. The Eagles will get rid of McNabb, Coach Reid & Vick. Kevin Kolb will stay, I'm telling you, Kolb ain't going nowhere no matter what happens.

I dont ever, ever, EVER want to draft a QB. Not until this team has a competent staff, minus Al Davis, to properly develop him. Until then, we are better off signing a young vet like Troy Smith...or even a guy like Billy Volek. This team needs a QB..if it was a fair competition, Jeff Garcia would be the starter right now. Russell sucks. No way he beat out Garcia FAIR and SQUARE.
