I have no doubt that Russ can be as good as he aspires to be, its all on him now. That throw against the Broncos was rediculous btw..the 50yarder to Miller, and the fade away TD throw to Lelie was pretty nasty.

Also the run where he clobs the Chiefs DB was the only highlight of that game for me

dude that 4:26 throw is nutty... theres a bunch of people in his face and he's just chucks it for a completion. of course that type of thing usually leads to a mistake. got lucky on that one, but i see him do it a lot. hope he can work on it and be the beast i hope he becomes.

BTW- JLH is savage, hah... not #1 or 2 material, but makes me smile every time he does one of them lil dances.

^^The key is good coaching by good coaches and I'm not sure we have that. :csa:

If a coach is coaching good wouldn't that make him a good coach? lol

We may not have the best coaches, but if they coach good we will be ok.

There is no doubt that Russell has a arm on him and he can be a great QB but it's like the rest of you said it also depends on the coaching. That's not all though it also is up to the rest of the team to help him out also. He needs coverage, experience and confidence. What good is it to have a arm that can shoot that ball 60+ yards down the field and not connect?! What good is it to have a arm like that and your teammates aren't covering for you and your getting sacked or just throwing the balls away because you have no other choice. Maan, there is no doubt he has had some good plays and he has it in him but there's a bigger picture. This team needs to be just that a team and work together and get out there and play some real ball and win! I hope that our coaching staff can help them get that together during training camp and they can come out on that field w/great confidence and play well dammit.
We got some great players now let's see that in action.

btw..i threw the embedded code up there so peeps can watch it here..hope you don't mind

Every QB has a WR that they are comfortable with, and the QB and the WR have great chemistry. Yes Russell has this with Miller, but he is being wasted to block. The only WR to have that "chemistry" with Russell was Carter, and he never even saw the field. Walker was out of camp, and missed games. Higgins never really got a chance to the end, same for Shielens. Our starting receivers was Curry, who was struggling and Lelie who we just picked up like a day before the opener.

No Line, No Chemistry, No Experience = Tough Start

Look what happened toward the end when we got some blocking, some chemistry with the WRs, and experience. Russell is raw, its a learning process. Hopefully last year in the beginning was his worst, and he will just continue to build off of the last games.

I believe in this kid, I really do.. But, these are just highlights and he needs to show us much more for the Nation to believe in him.. Like coach said, he needs to work harder and really embrace his role as a QB.. I'd like for him to read his targets a lot faster and to make better decisions on his throws.. He needs to also improve his accuracy and with confidence he will improve drastically, especially with the new faces on the line (hopefully they pan out). I want an actual WR to lead in receptions/yards/touch downs this season.. Look out AFC, because we are the up and rising team in the AFC West!!!

The one against Baltimore was a thing of beauty. He's a playmaker. No doubt about it. But he has to be a more fundamentally sound QB. He has to be able to make quick reads and get the ball out of his hands. Sometimes I wonder what the hell s going on in that head of his. I think he has very good accuracy when he zips the ball in with velocity but when he starts to loft passes his accuracy starts to go all over the place.

He could become a real good QB, but in those clips i see alot of throws into Double coverage.. Hope he improves in that department.
