Last year i brought most of you the attention of Marcel Reese. The Blazing HalfBack the Raiders picked up to the Practice Squad, after a strong showing at Camp.

Well Raiders had a visitor that caught my attention. A 221 Safety with a 40 time of 4.32 and 21 bench reps. He is a Safety. HE IS A FREAK. And his youtube highlight reel shows this guy would be a good pick in a late round.

Here is the full article.

I don't put too much stock in YouTube highlight reels, but he does appear to have some killer instinct at Safety, a glaring need. I would welcome him with open arms as a 2nd day pick.

He is a day two talent at best.

That guy hits like a truck. I want to see us have a safety that hits with reckless abandonment and not whiff like pooty tang huff.

They called him "The Missile" at Ohio, and that's exactly what he is. I honestly didnt see more than three NFL caliber tackles on that whole reel. he comes flying in high and you dont see the wrap up.

He is fast as hell though, and plays with reckless abandon. I would be down with a second day pick on dude

The only safety that I think is worth drafting day one is Patrick Chung.

He looks like a linebacker in the league, highlight wheel, his tape is similar to HUFF in terms of how he tackles -- we do not need that.

The guy is quick! & he could definitely deliver a blow! but i would rather see more of him in coverage.

No way! Huff tries to wrap the guy up, This guy just delivers a blow & they just drop.

I strongly disagree in the comparison to Huff. As said by another poster, Huff seems to try and wrap up the guy. When yous see this guy try just knock em. THis would be A PROJECT PICK i doubt those high tackles would be as good in the nfl. BUt he has such great speed that if he would tackle a little bit lower, it would still make for safer hit, with mennacing power..

The thing i only saw a few plays where he played for the ball. Always waited until the WR caught the ball to make a hit, relying on his Thunder hits.

But he is impressive, i wouldnt doubt a 2nd day pick, nothing higher than a 5th

I didnt see much wrapping up either...but I did see none of them get up after he smashed their asses.

But can he cover? What is his football IQ?
Takes a lot more than hitting, ask Roy Williams. If he was a late pick I wouldnt be mad.

Lol thats true, i saw most of them Fumble, and stay on the ground. They were some of the best hits i seen in a while, sure its college, but they are powerful hits.

Thats whats in question about this guy. ANd i agree with the ROy WIlliams comment. He is one of the poorest most overrated Safeties in the Game. Roy Williams and Flozell Adams being Cowboys has kept them in this league. They absolutely suck.

Reminds me a bit of Sean Taylor. Big, fast, hits hard. Sean T succeeded at this level and never really wrapped up. He just knew how to tackle, and wrapped up/went low when it was necessary. We got to see a couple picks at the end of the video, but how are his ball skills? I wouldn't mind spending a 2nd day pick on this guy. Who knows - he could develop into a nice safety.

It's not his strength of the hits he produces that worry me, it's the overall grasp of the game in the NFL that worrys me.. Huff was a star in college, but he hasn't transitioned yet and I doubt he'll ever grasp the NFL game. He will definitly be a project pick, but I'm willing to take that with what we have right now.. I'd like to see how far he progresses as a pick to the preseason.. If we land him, I want him to be starting.. I see no reason why he shouldn't. We have no depth at the saftey position.

I wouldnt say Mike Huff but yea he's obviously aiming high. He can clearly hit but can he consistently tackle? Cover?

At least he is versatile enough to play either safety position, and would allow us to move Tyvon to FS which I think would fit him better.

All this talk about trying to find a safety makes me sick...Huff was a #7 overall pick and here we are a few years later trying to find a safety. Huff is now a good ST player...F**K that man!! If anyone needs to be cut or have his salary CUT, its Huff. He should be making half of what Ekujuba (?sp) makes!

I think this year he is making about half of what ekejiuba makes. His salary this year is like 900k which is why he wont get cut or traded untill next years 5.5 mil salary

There highlight clips are the same; if you are interested, I have Huff's scouting tape from the 2006 draft (Thomas Howard and Bing on the tape as well)... Yes, this guy delivers blows, but his technique is similar.. He probably is more of a collision hitter, but not, not much better than what we have.

Can somebody point out anywhere on this clip where he makes a great coverage play???

Besides the interception (Which they showed from 2 different angles to make it seem like two different plays)...

One look at this and you can see he is a major project. Most of his tackles in this clip did not come inside the box also.
