What will Al do?

That's the question you always hear from the mouths of league personnel people when they discuss the Oakland Raiders (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/page/OAK) and the NFL Draft.

Can anyone figure out what Al Davis will do?

trade down (and possibly out of round two) and get more picks in the later round. Get your impact guy in round one, and then stockpile picks and pick guys based on need in the later rounds...

I would go crazy if that went down but we all know AL doesnt trade down...never say never but highly doubt it...

I have zero confidence in Al's ablity to improve our team through the draft. :csa:

I have zero confidence in Al's ablity to improve our team through the draft. :csa:I don't know who's ability picked last years draft choices but IMO I think the Raiders drafted very well.

McFadden he was hindered by Turf Toe all last year but still did very well and has explosive potential to break out this up coming season.

Tyvon Branch, who shined on special teams and did play some limited safety.

Arman Shields had an injury during training camp, so he is an unknown at this point.

Tevor Scott Led all rookies DE and tied the Raiders lead with 5 sacks.

Chaz Schilens was a starter by midseason and did very well.

Not a bad draft IMO.

It may not have been a bad draft in your opionion but you play to win the game and we only won 5 games and lost 11. If winning one more game than the year before can be called improvement we had a good draft. What about all the money we spent on stiffs who are no longer on the team? I guess since Al unf**cked some of his mistakes thats making progress? We need a GM and until we fix the front office what happens on the field is not going to change.

:csa:I'm with you on the GM for sure. It was a good draft in my opinion. Raiders only won one more game that is true, but the games were very close, plus the coaching change had to hinder things. Those draft picks were just a drop in the bucket way way to many holes last season as there is this season, can't expect them to improve overnight with the way things have been going in Oakland........but yes, a GM would help.

^^A GM and a veteran NFL HC with the ability to hire his own staff would make our rebuilding process a lot easier. Just think If Chucky were still here or another veteran HC had been on the job since say 2004. I'm sure we would be in far better condition that we are in now. What happens If we should lose our first six games? Is Cables job safe? It should be but we are dealing with you know who.
