Crabtree Says He Could Run A Sub-4.4
Posted by Mike Florio on April 21, 2009, 11:28 a.m. EDT
In an interview with ESPN The Magazine, Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree proclaimed that he could run a 4.4-second 40-yard dash in crutches.

Now that he’s off crutches, he says that he could do even better.

Crabtree told Dan Patrick earlier today that the recent Red Raider could reel off a sub-4.4 time in the 40, even as he continues to rehab a foot that required surgery to repair a stress fracture.

If so, doctors need to inspect the foot for the surgical insertion of a jet pack.

Before Crabtree’s injury came to light, the big question was whether he could run the 40-yard dash in fewer than 4.5 seconds. At 4.5 or above, Crabtree would have potentially plunged out of the top ten. Below 4.5, and he would have continued to be a top-five prospect.

So he didn’t run at all, and he’s still a top-five prospect.

Hmmm.

We’d sure like to get a look at the scar on Crabtree’s foot.

yeah right, but still...hes the best wr in the draft

Yea I could have a threesome with Jessica Alba, Beyonce Knowles and Meagan Good but that probably won't happen either..He still is very good WR 4.3 Um Ok whatever.

Isn't that a foursome?

I could run a sub 4.4 in the 20 yard dash on blacktop.

Honestly... It can go so many ways...

But, I will tell you why I think there is a 99% chance we are definitely not drafting Maclin.

Because AL still calls the shots in Oakland...

AND, Al drafts the size/speed specimens...

There is no way Al is going to draft Maclin @ #7 when he can trade back and get the guy he has rated higher than Maclin ..

And that guy is Darrius Heyward-Bey

Why did you say no commit to playing for the raiders? Does that mean you wouldn't like to be a raider. Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
No, I'd like to play for whoever picks me.

Ron, Atlanta 05:16 PM ET
The Raiders need the next Jerry Rice, can you be that guy? or something similar? Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
If I work hard enough, I can be that guy, sure.

i'm not reading too much into that, i feel like if he does end up as a raider, he will still give it his all.

why wouldn't you try hard to make it on your first NFL team?
at least if he doesn't like it here he can prove that he can excel and then make his big(ger) bucks with some other team..

Then he should present himself more professionally.. It's one thing to present yourself like that when you're already drafted, but dude is still on the clock LOL
