View Full Version : Why am I not surprised?
Just read on the other site according to USA Today JaMarcus will compete for the starting job :nono::hidebehind::suicide:
nah, they are just interpreting what Cable said in the conference... I highly doubt Jamarcus makes it to the end of the week.
Huff playeed great.. especially during the first half of the season... but the thing is... he was still being rotated and they obviously want Mitchell to step in and start at FS ... or have Branch slide over to FS and take over at SS

If that's the case then they'd have Mitchell & Branch switched up. Branch should be the playmaking FS with Mitchell being the hard-hitting SS.

He hasn't won any kind of competition since college so I don't see this going anywhere.

this may be a case of Al allowing the coaches to bring in a Jason Campbell, & keep a Gradkowski, but they have too keep JaMarcus on the roster & keep working with him. I think Al still believes JaMarcus can be that QB he wanted with more time & work. Don't worry BROS! cuz JaMarcus couldn't beat me out in camp right now. But don't be shocked if JaMarcus is on the roster opening day. Al is probably hesitant to cut JaMarcus, fearing he may catch on somewhere else & fuck his old wrinkly smelly old ass.

^^ I agree, Jastiffcus is Al's boy and he will get every chance to succeed in S&B. Like you said I'm not worried about him beating anyone out as the starting QB. It would be nice If we just cut his ass but I don't think Al will do it.

EXACTLY..
That whole article derives from this:
Q: Any way JaMarcus could start?
Cable: Well sure there is if he competes for the job and he’s doing all those things that your starting quarterback is supposed to do. If he’s the best guy than yeah.
...from this (http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2010/04/24/post-draft-cable-qa/#more-10758)article, and this (http://www.raiders.com/media-vault/videos/Coach-Cable-Wraps-Up-the-2010-Draft/d99bcca8-20ea-491c-8529-739ea86b45c6)video.. Shit, listen to Cable's tone when he answers the question.. No way in fucking hell does he even think DuhMarcus will sniff the 3rd string clipboard holder's job.. Dude is DONE..
Mountain out of a molehill..
Move along people, nothing to see here..

At the same time, I can't see the raiders and Al Davis paying him an extra $6M to learn/diet/grow up/become a professional. Then again, there are the Javon Walker and Marcus Allen situations...damn this org is screwed up...I've learned to not be surprised by anything, and not to expect anything.

ONLY way DuhMarcus is on the opening day roster is IF he takes a pay cut, 'cause I can't see Al paying this fucktard $9.5 million for minor league clipboard holding and giving barium enemas on the sideline while blasting his ipod.. Fuck that, dude is fucking GONE.. And no one will be happier than, well, ALL OF US.. Except for that MIA fucker raiders4life... Has he choked himself out yet?

I'd stick his fat, worthless ass at DT just to embarass the fucker, but he's probably too stupid to even realize what that would accomplish, like when he was waving to the crowd and giving the #1 sign with his fingers last year at home when the crowd was unmercifully booing him. He isn't the smartest bear in the woods, that's for sure.

JaMarcus thinks he's the shit, when in fact he is shit. JaMarcus thinks that money makes him an NFL star, when in fact it does not. JaMarcus blames the Raiders, the O-.line, his team mates, and whoever else for his lack there of. And when those Oakland fans boo him, his stupid mind thinks "they only boo u cuz u EET", "Don't sweat them fools, u got paid, they just jealous"

No. :whino Our SS's main job is covering the TE. He doesn't get much help with our scheme. Our FS has a very limited role. Mitchell would be a good open field tackler at the least although Huff does a great job in deep coverage. Mitchell would need to improve his coverage before he could play a lot of SS.
When do we ever have fair open competition? Al already has his mind made up. I just hope it's Campbell lol

I'm wondering if Al wants to showcase fat boy to the media so they can go "OMG! Dude is fat" making sure no team picks him up.
I don't believe Al has a problem cutting him, I believe Al has a problem of a team picking him up and he does turn into a QB.
I really think Al wants to make sure he is blackballed from ever playing again.
Cause if Russell ever becomes even an average QB that will destroy the image of the Raiders even more than what it is and that scares Al's ego.

Once we cut this dude I doubt a team will give him a chance to start a game. Maybe the Pats will look at him I don't know but dude will be out of the league. Russell is the poster child of how not to conduct yourself in the NFL when you are a rookie coming into the NFL while cashing big paychecks.
When Roger Goodell talks about rookies getting paid big amounts without doing anything I know Russell's name pops up in his head.

Might be that LaMont Jordan situation all over again but we shall see. Trading for Jason Campbell shows everyone already that Al fucked up so releasing Russell will be just to close the chapter all together.

Al has no need to blackball Russell..Russell effectively did that all on his own..Al's paranoia just cost him 39 million fucking Dollars..he should look at it that way..no team is going to pick him up..NONE..he is DONE PERIOD..THE UFL..Defunct Arena League..and the Canadian League wont even look at him..if there is another team that does sign him they are more fucking stupid than AL..Russell's only genious came in hiring his agents and PR People and pulling offf the scam of the mutherfuckin century..hands down..His stupidity comes later when he's broke and destitute..and thats the what Iam personally waiting for..I do hold grudges..especially when My Raiders are fucked up because of it..The Russell chapter is almost over..the time willl be here soon..Russell can take his 3 million bucks in severance pay and drink as much cough syrup that he wants..My focus now is watching the Raiders build something relevant and bring the greatness back..I see My, and the Raiders future..and JaMarcus Russell aint in it!

I can't believe Simple Jack-Marcus Russell is still on the team. I can talk about what players to bring in that would help improve our team but getting rid of Russell is to be the first priority.

The chance that Jaturkeyleg will be another QB in the NFl for another team . Is as likely to happen as Ghandi becoming a NRA member and joining the meat packers nion at the same time.

Good point, I remember last week Mike Lombardi was on NFLN talking about Jamarcus.....basically saying that teams around the league talk, they see how he's gotten coaches fired, they all know his attitude sucks and he doesn't care etc etc. So unless he's willing to sign for the league minimum, he won't catch on anywhere.
Besides, we have probably the worst QBs in the universe and he's a 3rd stringer here, what the hell chance does he have at starting anywhere else? But I agree w/ your take that Al probably knows Jamarcus sucks and will never do anything here, he wants to make sure his career is ovah for good anywhere else.

I agree that Russell is one fucked up QB and needs to go but why would you want his ass to end up destitute just because he sucks as our QB? This does not make sense to me, football is a game and a game only. I want to win just as bad as the next motherfucker but once the game is over I move on. This shit is not that serious, it's entertainment, bad entertainment but still just entertainment. One more thing before I move on Russell did not draft himself! j/k I could not let this oppurtunity pass to quote myself.

It's hard or24 to take anything in the media at heart when it comes to the Raiders. I usually hold my breath; the Raiders are the most secretive sports team in history, so many times we are all fooled by reports.
I'm glad Russell is gone; Campbell is an adequate QB at best and it is what it is. Gratkowski was old school though and I liked his demeanor out there; he really put life into the Raiders.
