Honestly, are you that surprised? This is the worst draft in years and that is REALLY saying a lot considering some of the guys we have drafted in the past. I cannot remember a draft day being worse out of all these years watching. Its absolutely pathetic, in fact I'm going to call it right now and say we take Taylor Mays next year with the first pick after he runs a 4.3. Fuck.

Wow, so a national poll voted on by fans all of the sudden justifies DHB as a bad pick....

As if most of the dickriders arent just going along with the fun all the draft gurus were having in the first place.

I will let DHB's play define if he was a reach or not, until then I am heppy we got him.

Being a die hard and supporting your team is one thing but come on BP we could have gotten far better players than we picked. I'm sorry but Al don't have a f**king clue along with his fat azz mouth running cronie HC Cable. Cable better wake up and realize that when this :shit: don't work Al is going to fire his azz.

I'm not drinking the Kool-Aide Bump it is what it is. Al f**ked up again and with the talent we left on the table we will be paying the price for years. I'm a Raider fan just like you and will support the team but I'll never support Al's dumb azz he is f**king up this team and we will see how his grand plan works once the season starts.

You're right, but why must we always have to hope that someone "becomes" something? Whay can't we just draft smart and improve the odds of someone "becoming" something?

Im no football expert but, from all the years Ive been watching this game 25+ years, I always thought you would go after guys in the first 2 rounds that would come in and start immediately and make an immediate impact.

If you draft someone in hopes to become something, then you do that in the later rounds!

DHB may do that. Time will tell, Crabtree would have done that, I know that is fact! Mitchell on the other hand....is he gonna come right in and start?? Is he capable???

Im sick of Al Davis man.

No fu*king :shit: S&B every mofo year Al pulls this same azz weak reach bull:shit: while the rest of the NFL picks the qualified NFL talent that they need to succeed. We have the same front seven we had before the draft and it will not matter who the f*ck we pick up as a FA we are going to get our dumb azz kicked once the season starts. Who do we have at LT to protect our QB? Who was still on the board when we made those dumb azz picks?

Yes the draft is full of IF's but the 31 other NFL teams use good scouting, their front office and their GM before they draft one of these IF's. What do we do? Al picks the players and the proof has been in the pudding for years. This is not something new, RAIderfan and I'm sure you know this. Why do you think we keep having double digit losing seasons? Our players suck!!

That's true, but... MOST of the IFS should be taken in the later rounds... not with the first pick.

We could have traded down to 20 and still got the same player

Al is out of touch! Dead set on proving the world wrong at the Raides expense!

I am with you man. How many people even saw DHB play? These so called gurus get sh*t wrong more than not. It ain't reaching if dude can play. DHB is a Raider so deal with it.

Why are you a Raiders fan if you can't deal with going against the grain? You know Al does sh*t his way.

Round 1, Pick 7 (7) Darrius Heyward-Bey WR 6'2" 210 Maryland
Pick Analysis:In a bit of a head-scratcher, the Raiders bypass Michael Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin to select Heyward-Bey. Although the former Maryland speedster recorded the best 40 time (4.30) at the combine, he is raw and unrefined as a receiver. He may eventually develop into a big-time weapon in the Raiders' offense, but he is a bit of a reach as a potential No. 1 receiver.
Round 2, Pick 15 (47) (From Chargers through Patriots) Mike Mitchell SS 6'0" 220 Ohio
Pick Analysis:The Raiders continue to place a premium on speed and athleticism over production. Although Mitchell was regarded as a second day pick in most war rooms, the Raiders nab the workout warrior with their second-round choice.
Round 3, Pick 7 (71) Matt Shaughnessy DE 6'5" 266 Wisconsin
Pick Analysis:The Raiders add another developmental prospect to their defensive line. Shaughnessy has excellent size and strength, but he isn't an explosive player off the edge.
Round 4, Pick 24 (124) (From Patriots) Louis Murphy WR 6'2" 203 Florida
Pick Analysis:Murphy had 77 receptions and a sub 4.4 time in the 40. He's a smooth route runner and projects as a solid No. 3 wideout. He's another speed player for the Raiders. They have Darrius Heyward-Bey for pure straight-line speed and Murphy gives them a good intermediate option. They are giving JaMarcus Russell some weapons. Russell has a big, strong arm and will thrown downfield to these guys.
Round 4, Pick 26 (126) (From Dolphins) Slade Norris DE 6'2" 232 Oregon State
Pick Analysis:Norris is a speed linebacker. He can play in space with his speed and he is another special teams demon. The Raiders have really built up their team speed in this draft.

The best pick the Raiders made is Slade Norris; he was a nice player at OSU and may be a project at LB.

The Raiders pretty much drafted backups; this is by far the worst draft in the history of the Raiders.

I just read the message board on ESPN and the RAiders are getting lit up by experts and fans.

You dont draft an avg. WR because he runs fast; and you dont draft a safety from a small school that wasn't even the best player on defense on their team.

It's official; the Raiders should be choosing the Olympic track team, but not NFL players.

Ron Wolf where are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't barley know any of the Raider picks at all this year. The only reason I ever heard of DHB is because he had the fastest time at the combine. After the 7th pick at the Hilton more than 85% of the people just left cussing. Personally I said what ever, called up this Hawaiian chick and got the best head ever. I mean the Raiders don't rule my life. Fucks that. Al can pick all the bums he want and Im still gonna make sure I find a broad to give some good throat.

Guess thats why I ain't a NFL GM.

Welp. All we can do is pray from wins. At this point, what the hell else can we do? Seriously. Every year its the same stupid ass shit. Al Davis need to hurry up and ________!

All I care about is my squad...and my squad getting more than 5 wins a year....

The Raiders always make questionable decisions. Lately they havent worked out AT ALL.

Sure people loved the DHall move until the season started. 8 weeks into the season he's gone. lmao.

Some players are just names to people and they will defend anything.

Now because these guys are rookies everyone will baby them for 2 or 3 years if they dont work out right away. It took 3 years before everyone admitted Huff was a bust. And I still see the occasional post that he can be good lol.

These guys are not solid, proven players.

They are projects! Thats why they are all reaches. They are not complete players.

I get that...but Huff and Gallery were sure things...in fact, gallery was an absolute lock at LT for us. MY thing is if you only count the 1st round.....Al's pick on his gut has been 50/50 with the people the bobble heads say we should pick.

Everyone but a few loved our D Hall and Gibril wilson signings.....

We may not like the plan...but there is a plan here and logic was involved.....I don't really care about the 1st pick as I think we will do well with whichever of the top 5 wideouts we took...but since crab didn't want to play for us...fuck em.

Round 2...I was totally pissed....but then I looked at my notes and realized this was the kid that a lot of TEAMS...not talking heads was calling a sleeper. This dude is a BALL HAWK with incredible technique....

Also our 5th round pick...he was the guy on the other side of Jeremy Maclin and is an incredible route runner...out of the wide receivers and DEs we picked I think one of each is going to stick.

A problem for us has been talent evaluation..but frankly our number one problem has been coaching..especially at the positional level. After 6 years we have got back to competence....and I am anxious to see how our underperforming players respond to adequate coaching

you cant vote on the quality of a draft, till years after...
the poll and discussions about reachers, who got the most value for the pick etc etc is pointless right now..
