View Full Version : Couple observations from the game...
Took the little guy to the game, barely made kickoff. no time for tg's (srry travis)
stadium was like 1/5 full but at least had paletable excitement.
Bruuuce keeps finding ways to make you wonder how accurate the career backup tag really is...Dude looks sharp out there and able to deliver the ball crisply. Dont know how else to put it.
DHB made that grab about 15 yards away from us, very impressive to see live. Good job by him to know where the sideline was and get the two tap..And to grab that thing over his head WITH HIS HANDS.
Deepest defensive backfield I think we've had, ever. You guys that think Ware sucks, well im not so sure the jury's out. One thing for sure Stevie Brown is a baller. Dude should at least take Sam Williams spot on ST.
CJ got absolutely victimized a few times, and that was with Ware on the other side. I think his age is definately showing..
W. McFadden pulled up with a serious looking Hammy after a nicely defended pass for BMW.
Eugene made a few impressive plays, another guy who is on the bubble.
Figurs looks to have secured a roster spot by making JUST ENOUGH plays. Had a drop, but showed some "wiggle" (cable word) on a punt return, and had a couple decent catches in traffic.
Holy shit...I was touring the upper decks with my son when I looked down and saw and actually HEARD mike mitchells hit on some poor victim..crowd went berserk...WHACK
Our center got pushed around a bit, but saw some good play from the second team guards..however too many fucking penalties..
Bruce Campbell looks a bit tentative, but did get upfield on a few run blocks.
Bennet over Cartwright and its not that close. Although i wouldnt be suprised if we kept both.
Real fucking cool Oakland to ban the smoking area, so now not only can I not go blaze one now, but I have to walk into the bathroom and inhale a fuly hotboxed room of various shitty trailer park tobacco smoke...thanks a fucking lot

Dude has been a preseason all star and had 1 good and 1 decent game as a Raider.. c'mon, the career backup tag is more appropriate at this point. Boller looked great too... And his arm is even more accurate than Grads... so can we make the same argument for him?
I'm just sayin... Rankin was probably the best preseason RB in Raiders history.

J. Campbell has the upside & arm strength, can make all the throws. But Gradkowski has the Fiyah that burns brightest, & has been impressive this preseason. I like how our players rally & respond to Gradkowski. I don't really see that with J. Campbell.......just sayin'.
Don't matter who starts tho. The O-Line is atrocious, the WR core is thin & Inconsistent, & our RB stable is injury prone

Yeah Boller did look good too.
Come on Bump, I have said many times Bruce is easy to game plan against, cant handle QB pressure, etc...
Not saying I think he should start for this team, but I really think dude could help a team win if he had a dominant O-line to work behind.
OH yeah, forgot about the Boller play where he took the db head on and drew the personal foul. that was pretty sick

^^ Pears is a fuckin joke, and he's probably got his roster spot locked down. We could pull some big dumb idiot from the fuckin stands and he'd block better than him.

You know what? I'm HOLDING TEH PHONE on young Jeremy Ware. He has improved every game. If he makes the rostah I won't be mad...

I just hope we cut the stiffs and keep the real football players for a change. No scholarships! :csa:

Problem is, there are some stiffs that have to stay cuz this roster is filled with stiffs, and there is no football player to fill them in with. Who drafted all these stiffs??

I'd like to think Campbell's "upside" is quickly diminishing. He has the same bad tendencies that he did once he came into the league and it doesn't look like he's gonna get rid of them. I just think after a while, you have to begin to wonder just how long it's gonna take to rid himself of those things, if ever. I doubt he ever will. I don't think his arm strength is really that much of importance either. Bruce has shown the ability to whip it 40-50 yards down the field w/ decent accuracy. So what if Campbell can throw it 55-60. Not that big of a difference. Bruce's passes are crisp and generally accurate from under 20 yards, all over the field and that's pretty much what I'm looking for.
Glad to see I made Romo's list also. I could prepare a speech if needed haha. I like winning awards.

The throw to Miller was sick... Great catch by Miller but Boller floated it in there only where Miller could get it
