Was searching the site to see if there was a video game thread already created, but was surprised when the search came up with nothing. Oh well, guess I'll start one now :D.

Feel free to share your XBL & PSN gamertag as well as talk about games, give reviews, and all that good stuff. My XBL gamertag is "Kulluminatii". I ran out of gold membership a while ago, but I'll probably renew once I buy a new game.

Anyway, was wondering if there are any soccer fans here. I'm looking to finally buy a new soccer video game (last one I bought was Fifa 08) and after playing the demos for both Fifa 11 and PES 2011...I'm stumped.

I hated PES at first, but I gave the demo time and I'm really starting to enjoy it. I can just imagine how much better this game could have been if the devs spent an extra month or two fine tuning it. The whole penalty system needs to be tweaked, and I don't think the devs implemented the advantage rule at all. Every time I'm tripped up, the ref stops the game. This has taken away so many great chances for me to score. Also, I have yet to get used to shooting. It seems like the "shooting bar" is overly sensitive, if I hold the x button for too long I miss what should be an easy shot.

Still, the gameplay is fantastic. At its best PES is by far the best soccer video game I have played. However, its rare to play a game where you don't notice the glaring issues.

Fifa 11 is fun, the gameplay & animations have improved...but it still feels like a rehashed version of the last Fifa game I've owned (Fifa 08). My favorite mode by far in Fifa is Manager mode, and from what I've read, that mode has regressed in Fifa 11. You can't scout players anymore, what the hell was EA thinking?! :suicide:

Nice, have you played it yet? I'm definitely going to wait a bit before I buy it, I fell for the hype over MW2 and it wasn't all that great of a game. The campaign was decent, but very short and the multi-player got pretty stale after 3 weeks. The game was full of glitchers too, so that pretty much killed the game for me. Never touched it again after that, even after it was patched.

Anyway, it would be helpful if you wrote a little mini-review after spending some time with the game...I'd like to hear opinions from actual gamers instead of just accepting the score sites like IGN/Gamespot give the game.

Lol just saw it, all games have glitches now. Call of Duty franchise just gets the most heat because they have the biggest community, and highest selling franchise, and 'hipstah nerds' look for any lil detail. Ive been hearing about glitches on multiplayer already with people getting "infinite" care packages, and ammo. It will take them a while to sew up all these glitches.

Honestly Im hardly an hour into this game and its way better than MW2. I havent even gotten into the multiplayer yet. I'm big into Multiplayer and Co-op, so that'll be the draw for me.

Just finished Red Dead Redemption, and muh favorite Fallout 3. Im a year or 2 late, but that shit was fiyah.

Yea I got a modded xbox back in Cali so when I'm home I got all kinds of games to play. Mostly single playuh's though, since I got banned form Xbox Live. But whatevah.

I still am working on Mass Effect 2, which is a really sick game. I think when I last played I was on the final boss, and that shit was just taking too long so I turned it off. I never ended up beating Fallout 3, that's one I gotta go back and finish. Never beat Batman Arkham Asylum either, but I just got sick of that.

I also had Dragon Age Origins, which I burned because it got such good reviews, and I just couldn't get into it at all. I usually like games like that, but the fighting style was kinda clunky to me, I'm not the biggest fan of that one-after-another, Final Fantasy-style fighting. Who knows though, maybe I'll go back and like it some time.

Once I get home, gotta play the new Halo single playuh and COD single playuh though, I'm sure my roommate burned COD like 2 weeks before it even came out. Looks sick as fuck though, I'll be glad to get back and play that shit.

I played Black Ops last night for a little while and Ill say...The campaign is BAD ASS. The graphics and play is NICE.

The multiplayer online is FTL!!!!!!! I dont know if its because I dont care to use 1960s weapons or what..it seems like they thinned out some of the gameplay or made it cheaper. Graphics arent as good and the play isnt as good...I dont like the multiplayer at all.

Ill finish the campaign and probably end back up on Modern Warfare. They should have just built off the last modern warfare and made a new one.

Damn, that sounds disappointing. I heard they tried to balance the gameplay, but I guess that ended up taking some of the fun out of it? I've heard from a ton of friends that the campaign is bad ass, so its definitely a rental for me at this point.

I think the next shooter I'll buy is Gears of War 3. Multi-player was weak in GoW2, but from the videos I've seen of 3...it looks like they finally fixed it.

i was about to stop but was more patient. it needs getting used to. I can see a big difference in the speed between MW2 and black ops online, mw2 was fasterr aiming, moving, etc.

there are less noob tubers, there are still ppl that camp but not as many.

and the guns are diff, m16 is a lot less powerful, famas is automatic, killstreaks are diff,

it just takes a lots getting used to, im guessin for people who were totally in love with mw2, it gets fustrating not having as much success with balck ops..

For those of you that play soccer video games and have yet to decide between PES 2011 and FIFA 11, patches will be released for both games within the coming weeks which should fix all the major problems with each game.

EA has already announced what will be fixed in their upcoming patch (PS3 patch has been released, although I've heard it hasn't fixed everything listed yet...so maybe another patch is on its way).

EA has announced that a patch will be coming very soon to remedy a number of issues with their latest game of kick-ball, FIFA 11. The patch release dates are November 12th for PS3 and November 17th for Xbox 360, and will feature quite a large number of changes.

Gameplay
You’ll now find that the implementation of the offside rule in the game is more accurate, both in terms of when the infringement is called and in terms of player positions when it happens. Occasional strange player positioning at kick-off have also gone away, while shooting from weak volleys has been improved, too. Importantly, so-called ‘micro-pausing’ during gameplay will also be a thing of the past. Overall, your gameplay experience should now be even better.

Career Mode
Your match fixtures during the season for cups and leagues, as well as the time of day they all happen, should now be much more realistic. They have also improved how accurately player ratings and growth are displayed, as well as making sure the players get the awards they deserve, when they deserve them. Using an exploit to secure a $2 billion budget has now gone away, while the emails you receive as a manager will be more appropriate and players you’ve loaned out will now be easier to see and manage.

Online Head to Head
Matchmaking will be enhanced, particularly in terms of initially connecting to an opponent, while they have removed a couple of exploits that people were using to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. Also, players will now no longer be able to use Passing Power Assistance in ranked matches.

Online Clubs
With the game update they will be making a range of improvements to stats and league-table presentation, as well as improving the camera motion when your player is a long way from the ball.

Presentation
You’ll now find that cut-scenes are improved during substitutions, along with a range of more subtle improvements around of the game.

Audio
Creation Centre teams will now benefit from crowd chants, whilst the custom chants have been improved as well. They have also managed to enhance a few audio triggers during gameplay, meaning you’ll get an even better atmosphere as things happen during a match.

Creation Centre
The general performance of the game when it involves teams and players created via the Creation Centre has been improved. Also, you’ll now find that the formations and attributes you set on the web will now transfer more accurately to the console.

FIFA Store
Live Season will be available for multiple users on the same console. Some people who had switched from an inactive XBL account to a Gold Account were having problems seeing the content of the store – that’s now been remedied.

Kits
Lincoln City and Montpellier kits should now be accurate.


Konami has yet to release any real info about the patch coming out for PES...except for the fact that a patch will be released.

PES fans will be pleased to know that PES 2011 is going to get a patch soon, fixing a various of issues that will be confirmed at a later date.

That's all we have to report on that for now, but keep checking the blog because as soon as we hear more, we'll report it.

I'm curious to know what has been fixed. It's all guesswork at the moment, but I'm rather excited to finding out what Konami have done.

As it stands right now, after logging in countless hours playing the demo for each game, PES will be the easier game to fix and if they can fix half of the stuff thats wrong with the game it should easily be better than FIFA. Fifa 11 isn't a bad game, it just hasn't really taken any risks this year to really differentiate itself from last year's game.

Nintendo Set to Reveal New Console (http://wii.ign.com/articles/116/1161875p1.html)

According to multiple reports today, Nintendo will reveal a new console at E3 this coming June.

Game Informer first reported that the console is capable of running games at "HD resolutions." Our sources have said the the console is significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and that Nintendo's intent is to recapture the hardcore market. Another source said it is capable of 1080p resolutions.

Nintendo is reportedly showing the console to publishers to garner interest for a late 2012 launch.

Additional sources tell IGN that Nintendo will release a pre-announcement this month with a full reveal expected at E3 and that the console will be backwards compatible with current Wii software.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with. I'm glad they are going to try and focus more on hardcore gamers with their next console instead of casual gamers & 5 year olds.
